Police Officers Receive Nearly $4 Million Settlement Stemming From Sexual Harassment Lawsuit Against Police Chief.

A years-long sexual harassment lawsuit filed against then-Chief of the Princeton, New Jersey Police Department, David Dudeck, has resulted in a settlement that will yield nearly $4 million to seven members of the department. The officers originally filed the suit in 2013, claiming that Dudeck fostered a “patently abusive [environment] and created a hostile work environment at the Princeton Police Department, with such acts of gender discrimination, sexual orientation discrimination, disability discrimination and sexual harassment.”

Dudeck also allegedly told a number of these officers that speaking out against him would result in “career suicide,” according to the lawsuit. The lawsuit identifies a large number of incidents in which Dudeck acted inappropriately, using foul language, lewd hand gestures, and even physical contact.
